ASKO DISHWASHER RECALL 2019

 

On September 26, 2019, Gorenje Group, owner of ASKO Appliances, voluntarily initiated a safety recall of select ASKO dishwashers in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada. The ASKO dishwashers affected by this safety recall were manufactured in Slovenia between October 2016 and September 2017 and were sold through ASKO’s authorized dealer network in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The recall affects approximately 26,600 units in the United States, as well as 4,300 units that were sold in Canada. 

 

Please immediately stop using the dishwasher and contact an ASKO certified service professional to schedule a inspection and free repair. You may also call the ASKO hotline for a free repair if your dishwasher is included in this recall.

The ASKO models listed above were manufactured between October 2016 - September 2017. Other than those listed above, no other ASKO models are affected by this voluntary recall and required repair.

 

 

 

The dishwashers that are part of this recall can be identified by matching the model number found in the safety notice and in the chart above. The model and serial numbers can be found inside the dishwasher on the right side of the dishwasher tub.

The issue is related to a possible fault in the power cable that can overheat due to insufficient contact and cause smoke to escape the dishwasher housing into the consumer’s home.

 

 

 

Upon learning of the potential problem with certain models of dishwashers manufactured between 2016-2017, we notified the appropriate federal authorities at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), and we are working in full cooperation with the agency. We want our customers to be safe, and we volunteered to recall the affected models and quickly make necessary repairs.

 

 

 

Approximately 26,600 ASKO dishwashers sold in the United States and 4,300 units sold in Canada. Only certain ASKO models are part of this recall, and they are listed above.

 

 

 

The dishwashers were manufactured in our facility in Velenje, Slovenia.
